Airport, Friday April 25 - California Senator Roy Ashburn visited the Civilian Flight Test
Center as part of a program to become acquainted with his constituents, and to see first
hand the technological advancements being pioneered at Mojave.
 
Sen. Ashburn visits with Al and Cathy Hansen, whose Mojo
Jets provides restored vintage helicopters and aircraft to the film production industry.
 
Vic Thomas and Jack Sexton of Needle Eye Aviation show
off the engine that they have developed and are testing for use in ultralight aircraft.
 
World-circling pioneer and test pilot Dick Rutan explains
his many adventures to the Senator.
 
One of the highlights to the Senator's visit was a
personal tour by designer Burt Rutan of Scaled Composites' recently unveiled White Knight
and SpaceShipOne, which hopefully will be the first privately funded craft to fly to space
 
Buzz Lange of XCor Aerospace provides the Senator with an
up-close-and-personal tour of the EZ-Rocket's small rocket engine.
