Virgin GlobalFlyer Stretches its Wings

World-renown aviation record-setter Steve Fossett took his Scaled Composites-built GlobalFlyer up for the first time this past week, as he gets set to attempt to pilot the first solo around-the-world non-stop non-refueled flight (for more information, jump to the GlobalFlyer website). Once again, the Mojave Airport is at the cutting edge of aircraft development and flight test.

Steve Fossett taxis the GlobalFlyer around the Mojave ramp prior to his first takeoff in the innovative aircraft.
