Serving the flying public and Community Businesses takes a team of dedicated people whose primary goal is to ensure that your needs are met. Whether you are a transient pilot needing fuel or a CEO looking for a new home for your company, the staff at Mojave Air and Space Port is available to listen and to help.

You can contact the staff either by phone, email or by stopping in to visit. The administration building is located under the old control tower at the end of the Airport's entrance road.

 

Executive Assistant

Interface daily with and report directly to the GM on all confidential interest to the district. Provide executive level assistance to the GM. Act as secretary to the Board of Directors. Transcribe and present accurate minutes of Board of Directors meetings. Archive all official correspondence. Provide interface to filming commissions and clients seeking to use Mojave Airport as a filming location. Provide the BusOps manager with a monthly accounting of filming activity.

 

Business Operations Director

Report directly to the GM on matters of H/R and Contracts and Grants. Direct the day to day operations of H/R, Contracts Administration. Prepare grant requests at the direction of the GM and seek department assistance from other managers as required. Seek and maintain a position of responsibility on State Approved Dept. of Transportation Div. of Aeronautics airport boards and maintain a working dialogue with FAA Airports Division and CalTrans Div of Aeronautics. Develop a comprehensive public works plan for the District and ensure all environmental factors are addressed. Coordinate with the Kern County Planning Department on PD and other land use plans. Provide oversight of consultants in CE, EE, and insurance. Assist with budget preparation and tracking. Member of the executive management team.

 

Finance Director

Report Directly to the GM on all fiscal matters. Responsible for district accounting functions, monthly finance reporting to the Board of Directors. Develop and implement an accurate payroll program and administer annual audits of District Finances. Develop a District Budget and ready for GM approval in June of each year. Track actual versus budget and report to the GM and department heads monthly. Oversee Accounts payable and receivable and support Grant Development with the Business Operations mgr. Assist the Airport Operations Director on special assignments.

 

Airport Security

Report to the GM through Airport Operations. Maintain a pro-active security posture at the airport and industrial park. Ensure mutual aide agreements are maintained and updated. Develop and implement an airport access control plan, flight line access and communication plan. Develop and maintain a working airport security plan and interface with federal, state and local agencies to update and implement the plan. Provide a active training program with part time and full time airport staff. Provide detailed and accurate security updates to the GM and department supervisors on a weekly basis. Assist the Business Operations manager with grant development and project execution. Develop and implement a district wide substance abuse program and report results to the GM on a monthly basis. Assist the Executive Assistant on filming projects.

 

Airport Operations Director

Report directly to the GM. Direct day to day airport operations. Develop and ensure updated training is accomplished and documented for all EKAD staff. Monitor environmental condition of the airport. Provide timely and accurate airport condition reports to the GM. Assist the Director of Business Operations and Finance with Grant request applications and engineering projects as directed by the GM. Oversee maintenance, fuels, tower (ATC) and Unicom or AWAS and crash fire rescue division. Provide leadership in environmental response and interagency coordination with KC LC and surrounding FD's. Provide leadership on special event operations; maintain and update special operations processes. Assist with budget development and monitoring. Manage FAA AST license interface and hazardous fuels storage issues.

 

Fire Chief/Crash Rescue Division

Report to Airport Operations. Maintain a ready fire and crash rescue division for the District. Ensure staff are trained in rescue techniques for all types of experimental aircraft and transportation systems being developed and tested at Mojave Airport. Ensure accurate and timely training is provided to all staff. Update the airfield operations manager on pertinent flight test activity and runway/taxi-way conditions on a daily basis. Ensure staff are trained on special security measures as directed by the security manager.

 

Fuels Division Supervisor

Report to Airport Operations Director. Operate the fuels division in a safe and accurate manner. Provide training to staff on operations. Gain working knowledge on Foreign Trade Zone operations and administration, and implement a working FTZ. Interface with fuel vendors, clients and salvage firms. Ensure the fuels division operates per the District Administrative code. Monitor, inspect, test and recommend changes to the GM on fueling operations at the district. Review all fueling permits on a monthly basis to ensure accurate and safe fueling and de-fueling operations at Mojave Airport.

 

Maintenance Division Supervisor

Report to Airport Operations Director. Maintain a clean Mojave Airport. Develop and maintain a functional maintenance program by prioritizing tasks and directing subordinates through a task/work order program. Maintain the District water system and accomplish a detailed and timely preventative maintenance program. Review and assign work order tasking to staff on a daily/weekly basis. Report airport maintenance deficiencies to the airfield operations manager or fuels manager on a daily basis. Obtain collateral duty training from the security and airfield operations manager on special operations matters and ensure all maintenance staff are trained on airfield communications and operations.
