VINTAGE AIRCRAFT
Carcasses of out-of-use aircraft can be found at Mojave's so-called 'boneyard', one of the largest resting places for retired liners in America. Some of the vintage craft laid to rest at the Mojave 'scrapper' include the ultra rare APSA 990, which first flew in 1962 for APSA Peru until it was reposed in 1973 and was narrowly escaped being 'crashed' for a FOX network TV special, and the TWA Constellation, perhaps the most beautiful commercial aircraft ever manufactured.
Tours of the airfield can sometimes be arranged — call 661 824 2433 for more information.
